This beautiful custom Plucked Psaltery has a pleasing shape, an intricate soundhole rosette and a distinctive black finish.  It comes with it's own case, six song sheet inserts, a tuning chart, tuning wrench, pick and extra strings (shown in the picture below the Psaltery.  Price is $115.00 (for the Black finish) and $110.00 (for the Natural).   To Order   

The Plucked Psaltery, also known as a lap harp or a music maker, is an updated version of an instrument from Biblical times.

You don't have to know a thing about music to play it! All you do is slide one of the sheets under the strings, and follow the notes from left to right, plucking the string directly above each note. (Of course, it helps if you know the song well enough to get the timing right.)

They're available in three woods: Birch, Oak, or Walnut. Each instrument comes with a starter set of 12 song sheets with words, a pick and tuning wrench, some extra string, and instructions for tuning and string replacement.

We now have two new models of plucked psalteries, the Eagle Spirit (left) and the Mountain Man (right). They have the appearance of very expensive hand-carved instruments, but the carving on these is actually plastic, to keep the price down. They're slightly larger than the others, to accommodate the design, and require a larger case, but they use the same music sheets. The Eagle Spirit and Mountain Man psalteries are available only with the Birch top.
