This 2 1/2 octave Bowed Psaltery has a bookmatched, quartersawn Sitka Spruce top. The pinblock is made of Northern Rock Maple, the rails are Cherry, and the back is Mahogany. The top is accentuated with Cherry for the outer rosette and the bridge. It is a left-handed bowed psaltery, meaning the notes are flipped from right-to-left from the standard to make it easier to play with the left hand as dominant. Every one of our bowed psalteries is handcrafted here at Song of the Wood and is dated and numbered. In addition, every psaltery comes with an adjustable horsehair bow, rosin, a tuning wrench, a tuning chart, an instruction and care booklet and some spare wire. We inlay dots in every G, C, C# and F# playing position to help you find your way around.
